Megan + Andrew = Engaged

It was so fun going out with Megan and Andrew to do their engagement photos.  We went walked around Montrose.  Megan and Andrew grew up in the Houston area but currently live in Austin.  Apparently though, neither of them have spent much time in Montrose so I was so excited to show them around a bit!

Trinity Vineyard Staff Headshots

A few weeks ago, I was asked to do headshots for the Trinity Vineyard Church’s staff.  I jumped at the opportunity to photograph these wonderful people.  Full disclosure?  I go to Trinity Vineyard in Cypress.  And when I say these people are wonderful it’s because I really know them!  They are a big part of my community.  So without further ado, here are the photographs!

This is Mike, our senior pastor.

And his great wife, Amber!

This handsome guy (who also happens to be my awesome husband, best friend, and baby daddy.  Hehe.) is over tech and media.

So headshots aren’t my usual thing but I liked doing something different!  I hope you enjoyed these.

Abbott – Sugar Land Senior Portraits – Austin High School

So, I’ve decided I love doing senior sessions.  They are some of my favorite because you have a young person, totally excited about the coming time in their life, who usually have an awesome sense of style!  Abbott didn’t let me down at all!

I mean… Look!  She’s gorgeousssss!

She also is a cool glasses wearer.  I love me a pair of cute glasses!

And some awesome accessories.  I think one of the things that I love about senior sessions is that they love their accessories!

And she has big brown eyes.  I’m totally a sucker for brown eyes!

She’s going to the University of Louisiana in the fall!

What a great day for some portraits!

Her younger brother joined us for a few minutes at the end of our session.  Aren’t they handsome?

And her very proud Mama.

The whole session, Abbott smiled wonderfully, looked beautiful, and was well composed.  I had to show this one just so everyone knows she can be silly as well…

Abbott, thanks for letting me hang out with you last Saturday.  It really was a joy to spend some time with you and your fam!  It was totally worth the severe allergic reaction I had to the spring outdoors.  You’re gorgeous!  Good luck in the future!

With Care,

Rachel

P.S. One more…

Heather, My Baby Sister – Houston Senior Portrait Photographer

Ok guys.  Get ready for a WHOLE LOT of photos.  See, not only do I really really like this person, but she is also beautiful and fantastic.  And dare I mention – gets her fantastic charm from MUAH!  Haha.  Not really.

I cannot believe that my sister is a senior in high school.  Sometimes I still expect her to be little, but I can’t anymore.  I mean, heck, she’s a good four inches taller than me!

Through high school, she’s competed in basketball, track, and volleyball…

But is also on the student counsel and makes awesome grades.

And she’s got the Perry looks!  :-D

The only problem with doing a session with close family is that they know you really well.

Heather tried to run away…

Punch me…

Made crazy faces…

Punched walls…

And smiled REEAAALLLYY BIG.

But in the end…

It was worth it.

Much thanks to my handsome man, Matt, for assisting on this shoot.

Heather, I’m so proud of you and all of your accomplishments, but most of all… I will love you forever and ever little sis.  I’m so glad we’re friends.

Ashley Anderson’s Sneak Peek – Houston Graduation Session

Here’s just a quick view of what I’ve been up to lately!  I’ve got weddings, senior sessions, and a family session to post soon!

Houston Portrait Photography – Kris Fulk

A little while back, Kris (from Kris Fulk Photography) and I got together to play with some new photography equipment we had acquired and just hang out.  You can see her blog post on it here.

She’s a beautiful person and a great photographer!  You should go check out her work!

You’ll have to excuse the fact that the next three photographs have the same background, but each face she’s making are ones that are very “Kris.”  I just love them.

See… I’m so fun, my friends jump for joy!

Some off camera flash fun.

With Love,

Rachel

Molly’s Bridal Session – Nacogdoches Wedding Photography

In May, Matt and I traveled up to Nacogdoches to photograph Molly’s bridals!  I really like doing bridals but sometimes they are hard because I can’t share the images until after the wedding!  Well, Molly and Chris’ big day was June 19th (I’m working on editing them and will have a blog post about it soon!) and now I can share these!

Molly, it was such a joy being able to hang out with you while battling the wind all day!

We started out on the track at Stephen F. Austin State University because Chris has run track for SFA all through college.  Woo!  Go SFA!

And they met at First Baptist…

Isn’t she gorgeous?!?

Just a quick note, I will be out this week for a youth conference my church puts on called Doin’ the Stuff!  This will be my 9th year at it and I’m a room leader for some awesome girls and we’re going to go ointo our community to help impact people’s lives.  It’s such a wonderful opportunity and I am always inspired by seeing the youth getting so into helping others.  I think the leaders may get just as much or more out of the experience than the youth!  The only problem is that I will have no time to edit photos so everything is put on hold for a few days!

With Love,

Rachel

Ali – Stephen F. Austin High School Grad Portrait Session

Man oh man.  With this session I just couldn’t decide which pictures to post!  Ali is a senior in the Sugar Land area who I just had the pleasure of meeting.  A beautiful girl through and through who is a dancer and way sarcastic.  My kind of girl.  You are going to LOVE SFASU next semester!  We did our session in Nacogdoches where I went to school.  I love this town.  Seriously!  It’s so great for pictures.  I know more great places to take pictures there than in Houston!

If I had to choose one favorite, it would be this one…  But I’m not really choosing, I think.  I mean, ugh, Ali!  You are gorgeous!

My wonderful assistant Liza!

And you might recognize the Sarah in this picture.  I just did an engagement session with her (you can see it here).  She was there for support and a great time.  I really am falling for your family, just FYI!

With Love,

Logos Prep Prom – Sugar Land Portrait Photography

So, I started this blog post being all mushy about how much I love my little sister.  I’ll save that for another time because it’s not just pictures of my sis that I’m showing!  It’s also pictures of her awesome and gorgeous friends!  I am so proud of Heather and her accomplishments.

Gabri and Matt’s Louisville, Kentucky Wedding!

Last summer, my beautiful friend Gabri married her Matt.  Gabri and Matt met at a prayer meeting after Gabri left Houston (*tear!) and moved to Kentucky.  The rest is history!

All this was shot with a D40, a manual 50mm f/2 lens, and the kit lens.  My shooting regalia has gotten much better since then!

I just love this next images of the flower being put in Gabri’s hair!  Look at the eyelashes!  Gabri is a gorgeous person!

It was a beautiful day that I’m so glad I was able to be a part of!
