Ashley + Thomas = Married!

Sometimes I get the amazing joy to photograph a wedding of people that I truly love and cherish.  Ashley and Thomas’ wedding was one of those and I’m so excited to share some of the many many images I took on March 24, 2012!

The beautiful bride!

Now, this bridal party will probably always be some of my favorites.  First, it contains my previous roommates (Ashley, Heather, and Sara) and I knew the rest of the bridesmaids through Ashley!

The handsome groom, Thomas!

As we were walking over to the church from the hotel the girls got ready at, Ashley decided to recreate the scene from Bridesmaids.  And of course, I needed to share it here!

One of the many things that I loved about this wedding was how much of an emphasis was placed on putting God first.  The guys prayed together, the girls prayed together, and the wedding party prayed together right before the ceremony.  You shall see more later…

Ashley and TK didn’t want to see each other until the wedding.  This didn’t stop them from praying together though before the ceremony.

The girls praying.

Could there be any cuter ringbearers?  They forgot the pillows walking down the aisle, but I don’t know if anyone noticed!

There was a time of worship before their vows.  Matt and I played this song at our wedding.  I actually walked down the aisle to this song so it has great meaning for me.

First dance.

Father Daughter Dance.

Couldn’t help but get a photo with my previous roomies!  I love these ladies!

They had lavender there for people to throw as they were leaving.  It smelled SO GOOD!

All in all, it was a great wedding with some great people involved in it.  Thank you Ashley and Thomas for trusting me to photograph your beautiful wedding.  I love you both so much!

Jason + Kristin = Married!

Man, I’m a little behind on getting some of these photos out the door!  I’ve known Jason and Kristin for a while now through church.  You can see a family portrait session that we did last year here!  They are great people and had an awesome wedding!  If you would like to see all the photos, please meander on to the GALLERY.

Some details…

The rings!

The dress!

I got a lot of great photos of Kristin getting ready.  This one just happens to be my favorite because her eyes are HUGE!

Checkin’ herself out.

Jason and Julian.

Some of the beautiful centerpieces!

Kristin’s son, Julian.

Jason was so happy to see his bride!

Kristin’s parents looking on.  Her mom has gorgeous eyes just like her!

The Drywater Band was one of the best wedding bands I have seen.

There was lots of dancing to be done.

And people danced.

And the getaway…

I’m so happy for you guys.  You’re finally married!!!  I hope you had a wonderful time on your transatlantic cruise.  I can’t wait to hear about it!

With love,

And for your viewing pleasure…  Me smushed up against the ceiling to get a photo.

The second shooter for both this wedding and then the day’s wedding (blog post coming soon!), Kris Fulk!  She is also a great friend that will help you put on your bracelets.  That’s why I keep her around!

My assistant for the day, Amy Reed, gettin’ the shot.

Sara + Michael Part II – Riverbend Country Club Wedding Photography

I know all of you had been waiting with baited breath for part II of Sara and Michael’s wedding…  So without further ado, here it is!

Sara and Michael decided to do a first look.  This means that we were able to snap a few photographs while they were able to take a few breaths before the whole thing!  Sara was so excited to see him.  Can you tell?

The families.

The first kiss as husband and wife!

One of my favorite formal photographs ever taken!  I’m just so hilarious apparently…

And I had to put two photos of this first dance.  I loved it.  Father-daughter dances always make me tear up.  I can’t even imagine what my dance with my dad will be like.  We will be buckets of tears…

Ali playing air guitar.  She’s pretty awesome at it.

Now, this is a photograph that I would normally not include in a post, or in the proofs, or anything, but notice on the right hand side…  Our off camera flash created some fun lines looking as though they are shooting out of her eyes.  I love it!

It was a great time!

Matt and I and the lovely bride and groom.  I <3 them!

And I had to get a photograph with Ali as well!

Saying goodbye.

All in all, it was a great night with some amazing people.  Thank you for trusting me with your wedding.  We had a great time!

With care,

Sara + Michael = Married! Sugar Land Wedding Photography

I’ve started this blog post a few different times and can’t decide what to say.  Sara and Michael are some pretty awesome people who I have come to really enjoy being around.  Add to that their fun and exciting families and we had a beautiful and fun wedding that I was so thrilled to have the pleasure of photographing.  Sara and Michael were my first engagement session (can be seen here).  My first wedding to be booked.  And then I photographed Sara’s sister, Ali, for her graduation (those great photos are available here).  All in all, I love these guys.

The beautiful invitations made by the bride.  I love paper products…

Sara wrote down her vows and allowed me to read and photograph them.  I love the “TALK SLOWLY!!!!”

The girls got ready at Sara’s parents house.  Their loving cat Charlie watched over us the whole day.

My fabulous friend, Audrey did all the hair for the girls.  She is awesome.  Check out her blog here!  If any brides out there need their hair done, she’s the girl for you.  And she’s hilarious.

Ugh… I love this dress so much.  So beautiful, simple, elegant.  It was perfect for Sara!

Sara gettin’ her hairs did.  :-D

The guys getting ready…

I’m going to end with this one for the night.  More tomorrow!

As Sara finished getting dressed, we turned to see this…  I love when you can see how much the bridesmaids love the bride.  So cute.

See you tomorrow with the rest of the images!

Sara and Michael – Sneak Peek – River Bend Country Club

Here’s a quick sneak peek from Sara and Michael’s wedding on 1-1-11!  I love this couple.  They are a whole lot of fun and I really tried to capture that.  More to come soon!

Molly and Chris – Nacogdoches Wedding Photography

On June 19th (my sister’s b-day!), Molly and Chris were joined in marriage.  Matt and I were given the opportunity to capture it and I am so thankful for that.  When I met with Molly and her mom in Nacogdoches we fell into talking about weddings and budgets and the like.  It was the start of a new friendship.  I loved how she easily spoke of her relationship with Chris and their commitment to each other.  It was beautiful!

I had met Molly while in school at SFASU and we were involved in the Invisible Children club on campus as well as living on the same dorm floor.  Now that I’ve gotten to know her better, I kinda wished we had hung out at school because she is awesome!  Chris, you are one lucky man!

The day started out at Grace Bible Church in Nacogdoches.

I’ve decided that getting ready shots are some of my fav’s.

It’s no secret that I loooove flower girls!

This little flower girl came in saying, “It’s my wedding day!”  She thought she was the bride.  SO cute!

Matt got to hang out with the guys during the morning while they were getting ready and waiting on the girls.

They played games like hangman, and apparently one of the guys had an auto-tune app on his phone and they had a grand ol’ time with that!

The lovely ladies…

They had two people officiating their ceremony.  The man on the left is Chris’ grandfather and he was very heartfelt.  The man on the right is Bobby Smith, the associate pastor and the college minister at First Baptist in Nacogdoches.  He was there when Molly and Chris met and has been an integral part in their lives.  What a special way to make the ceremony unique and emotional!

Here’s Chris’ grandpa again.  And yes, that is the marriage license in his mouth…

The wedding cake carried on the bridal session theme of track and field.  The cake was made by Cindy Metteauer.

They had an ice cream bar which I think is a great idea for summer weddings.  So yummy to have Blue Bell ice cream on a hot day!

The flowers were done be Nacogdoches Floral Co.

Molly had a special bracelet around her bouquet.

For the father daughter dance, I’m not sure if there was a dry eye.  I know I was all teary.  Molly and her dad are so sweet together.

Congratulations Molly and Chris!  Thanks for including us in your day!

Zach and Angie – Houston Wedding Photography

Back in March I second shot with the amazing duo of Mike and Deb Turner of MD Turner Photography.  This was my first ever wedding!  Mike and Deb blogged about it on this post.  The wedding was at Grace Presbyterian Church and the reception was at the Westlake Club.  I have been to Grace Presbyterian before for Regional Choir when I was in high school (the sanctuary has awesome acoustics!), but the Westlake Club was new to me!

Loved her shoes!

The awesome Mike and Deb

Molly’s Bridal Session – Nacogdoches Wedding Photography

In May, Matt and I traveled up to Nacogdoches to photograph Molly’s bridals!  I really like doing bridals but sometimes they are hard because I can’t share the images until after the wedding!  Well, Molly and Chris’ big day was June 19th (I’m working on editing them and will have a blog post about it soon!) and now I can share these!

Molly, it was such a joy being able to hang out with you while battling the wind all day!

We started out on the track at Stephen F. Austin State University because Chris has run track for SFA all through college.  Woo!  Go SFA!

And they met at First Baptist…

Isn’t she gorgeous?!?

Just a quick note, I will be out this week for a youth conference my church puts on called Doin’ the Stuff!  This will be my 9th year at it and I’m a room leader for some awesome girls and we’re going to go ointo our community to help impact people’s lives.  It’s such a wonderful opportunity and I am always inspired by seeing the youth getting so into helping others.  I think the leaders may get just as much or more out of the experience than the youth!  The only problem is that I will have no time to edit photos so everything is put on hold for a few days!

With Love,

Bonnie and Tatum – Brenham Wedding Photography

On June 5th, Bonnie and Tatum tied the knot!

I met Bonnie a few months ago through work and we hit it off!  I mean, both engaged, both working the same sort of job, both looking forward to the future.  She’s a very straightforward and knows what she wants kind of girl.  I was so excited when they decided to use me to photograph their wedding!

Bonnie is from Brenham, Texas and that is where they decided to get married! Matt assisted me and got some awesome shots!

Matt’s shot.  I love it!

Another Matt shot…  Bonnie’s dad is a jeweler.  Holy cow their rings are awesome!

Another shot of those fabulous Christian Louboutin shoes she was sporting!

I love wedding ceremonies.  They are so full of meaning, emotions, and the visible sign of a relationship where two people are to become one.

One of Tatum’s cute boys!

A few details…

And the flower girl was not grumpy very much, but I do have to admit that grumpy flower girls make me laugh a little…

This cake looks cool on the outside, but OH EM GEE…  It was carrot cake.  Stinkin’ awesome!  The grooms cake was gluten free and so good.

Bonnie and Tatum saved wine bottles and placed candles in them as their wedding centerpieces.  Some has really cool labels like this one…

This cake topper was bought on Etsy.  Love!

The bouquet!

Man, this crowd danced!  Everyone sat around during dinner and chatted, but once that music started up, everyone – young and old – started dancing.

This photograph just makes me so happy.  I want that to be me and Matt when we’re old…

A much happier flower girl.

At one point, the bridesmaids decided to serenade the bride.  It was awesome.  Look at their fantastic use of water bottles and a lighter.

Pure joy.

Oh…  And here’s my hot second shooter.  <3

I hope you enjoyed Bonnie and Tatum’s wedding photographs!   I had a wonderful time getting to hang out with them all day and see a major stepping stone in their relationship.  Congrats guys!  To view the rest of the pictures, visit my online gallery.
