Morgan + Jeremy = Engaged! – Rachel Hope Photography Narrative Session

When two people love each other, you can see it in the way they look at each other.  In the way they talk.  In the way that they touch.  Morgan and Jeremy show their love in little ways seen in their actions.  When asked how others might explain their relationship Morgan said, “They would say that they see us as best friends who already seem to be married.  We have a lot in common, are mutually respectful and loving.”  Both Matt and I could see little glimpses of that throughout their narrative session.

Love this photo…

Morgan and Jeremy have been dating for over 5 + 1/2 years.  After dating long distance for a few years after college they finally live in the same city again.  Love it!

For my long time blog readers, you may have noticed that I’ve started writing about doing Narrative Sessions.  I have been wanting to find ways to accurately portray my clients through my photography.  Matt and I have been working on focusing our photography business into what we really wanted to be photographing.  The sessions that have meant the most to me have been sitting in people’s homes where they are the most comfortable.  A Narrative Session is a way to spend more time with a client and seeking to tell their story.  A narration of a part of their story is what I am seeking to create.

Morgan and Jeremy were awesome enough to let me and Matt into their cute apartment to photograph them.

This also gave me the chance to meet their cat – Romeo!

Some of the pretty things on our nature walk…

Morgan and Jeremy, thank you for allowing Matt and I to come into into your lives at this exciting time.  I loved spending time with you guys at the park and in your home!

Heather + Ben = Engaged!

Sometimes you just know.

Heather and Ben are a pretty amazing couple.  I’ve known Heather for a few years (she now lives a few streets away from me.  She’s a half-roomie at my house!) and she is an amazing woman of God.  With a firm foundation in Christ, she spurs others into new depths of relationship with God.

Add Ben.  Ben’s newer to our circle of friends.  We all like him already.  Ben and Heather have known each other for a few years, but recently it has become more romantic in it’s intention.

I think what is so special about their relationship is that it appeared when there was no expectation for such, but has grown with intention.  It’s been a magical thing to watch.

We recently found out that Ben is quite ticklish.

During a minute of downtime, I snapped this photo of them.  I love it because they have such a mutual care for each other that comes through when they speak.

My personal favorite.

We lost light super quickly, so Matt and I busted out our off camera flash.  Ba Bam!

And what’s a good trip with friends without a face shaking contest.  Let me know who you think wins!

Personally, I think Matt wins.  Have you ever tried this?  Hilarity will ensure, I promise!

Heather and Ben, thank you for your friendship.  I absolutely adore Heather and I can’t wait to have Ben in Houston to join our circle of friends.  Meanwhile, wedding planning is in full force.  There will be a follow up wedding to this post for my first “destination” wedding in September in Michigan!  Whoop whoop!

With care,

Sara and Michael – Rosenberg Engagement Photography

You can see how much Sara loves Michael by the way she looks at him.  The joy in her eyes as she watches him makes me want to love my man more.  I think that’s what love does, you know?  It inspires.

Without further ado, here are quite a few images.  I couldn’t just pick three!

Matt’s shot and one of my favs…

There was lots of silliness to be had.  These guys kept me laughing so hard!  I’m sure I missed some awesome shots because I just couldn’t help but chortle along with them.  And… you did see that right.  I said chortle.

And now… for your viewing pleasure… It’s Matt and Rachel!  *Deafening cheers*!

Remember, I did a short sneak peek of their session last week here.  I’m excited with the possibility of shooting their wedding on January 1st!

With Love,

Sneak Peak – Sara and Michael Engagement Session in Rosenberg, Texas

What a joy it is to have clients that leave you laughing so hard that it’s hard to take pictures!  That’s Sara and Michael.  Here’s a little glimpse into their love.  More to come later!

And a silly one…  These guys were silly!  Apparently, Michael doesn’t even know it but the “totem pole” photo is one of his favs.  He wanted to recreate it here…

With love,

Rachel Hope
