Megan + Andrew = Engaged

It was so fun going out with Megan and Andrew to do their engagement photos. We went walked around Montrose. Megan and Andrew grew up in the Houston area but currently live in Austin. Apparently though, neither of them have spent much time in Montrose so I was so excited to show them around a bit!

Rowan Family Infant Session

Little baby, Elijah is here! When Jill contacted me about photographing this little man, I was so excited! See, Jill used to be my manager at Star of Hope. She has helped me grow so much as an employee, Christian, and mom. She heard all of my fears and worries in ALL OF THOSE AREAS, and amazingly led me through them. So when Jill and Joe found out they were expecting another child (Aaron is seven now!) after she left Star of Hope, everyone celebrated!

Elizabeth + Christian = Engaged!

Meet Elizabeth and Christian, everybody! Elizabeth is my lovely sister-in-law and Christian is her newly betrothed. ;-)

Maybe I’ve been watching a few too many episodes of America’s Next Top Model but can you say “SMIZE” in your best Tyra Banks voice?

One thing I’ve realized is that as people get approach their mid-twenties and beyond, they don’t usually have too many photos of just themselves. I wanted to make sure that Elizabeth and Christian both had some.

Mely and Fransisco’s Newborn Narrative Session

Everyone! Meet Yoalli! Gosh this girl is a cutie and has such a great family. I’ve known Mely for three years and we work together at Star of Hope. She is such a joy and I have missed her so much as she has been on maternity leave.

This is Samuehl. He is in love with his little sister. Aren’t they both so cute?

Introducing Claire! The Houghtaling’s Newborn Session

To say that I’m excited about sharing this session is an understatement! Daniel and Diana have already seen all of the final images and placed their order so now it’s time for everyone else to see them! Daniel and Diana are some of our closest friends at our church. They were one of the only other couples that did not have children when we started going. Now we have joined the ranks of those with children! Claire was born just a few weeks ago. She was perfect during the session and super sleepy.

New Hair!

By now, many of the people I come in contact with on a regular basis have all seen my new hairs. I was getting tired of the “mom ponytail” and decided just to take the plunge and just chop it all off. It’s amazing how a haircut can make you feel differently and give some confidence. If you are thinking of cutting your hair or changing something for a time, go for it! You only have one life to live… Sometimes a haircut can inject a little extra joy into your daily life.

If you need a great haircut, Roots in Montrose does a great job (Rita is my personal fav)!

Personal Year End Wrap Up

Personally, this has been a life changing year. Matt and I had our beautiful baby girl in July and the whole year has just flown by. In May, we were able to fly to Colorado to be in some of our closest friends wedding (hooray, Jenni and Alex!). Add to that baby showers, going to New York in November, and just day to day fun… Well, you get the picture.

And here are some of our iPhone photos. Doing this blog post makes me realize I need to carry my good camera everywhere because life is full of great picturesque moments.

Ding dang. I love my life. Thank you all for being a part of it. Here’s to another fantastic year in 2014!
